Caleb’s Crossing - A Blend of Straight Bourbon and Rye Whiskey
Curator’s Notes
Inspired by straight bourbon & rye whiskey blends spanning the last decade, I set out to fashion a bourbon-rye variation of my own. Typically, one finds that bourbon is the mature element in these types of whiskeys; additionally, the rye element is often “barely legal,” with grain percentages as low as 51% (the minimum required by law). In the interest of exploration, I decided to flip those conventions on their heads. Relying on a combination of seven-year-old Kentucky bourbon and twelve-year-old Indiana 95/5 rye whiskey, Caleb’s Crossing Straight Bourbon & Rye Blend delivers a unique barrel-proof sipping experience, with layers of creamy caramel, barrel-aged black cherry, and lingering candy-esque spice. dj
